The Mattingly Center offers frequent opportunities for severely disabled individuals to participate in community activities, to enhance education, training, recreation, and socialization. One of the guiding values of the Mattingly Center is our approach to client empowerment and decision making. Each participant is encouraged to make their own decisions, and express all thoughts and feelings, concerning the needs and wants in every aspect of their life. The Mattingly Center celebrates the differences of each individual, and respects their right to be treated as adults.
The Mattingly Center's focus is on full citizenship and real community, which makes us absolutely unique among support agencies in Kentucky.
The Mattingly Center for Continuing Education Program provides quality services to individuals with severe disabilities; those who severe needs may not otherwise be met by traditional adult day programs. The Mattingly Center Adult Program serves the individual needs of its participants and encourages their acquisition of appropriate educational, daily living, communication, social and work-related skills. Many of our program activities take place within the community where the participants use their skills in real-life situations. We believe that all people no matter the disability or medical need can accomplish a meaningful day with dignity.
The Mattingly Center is located in the heart of the Highlands at 1520 Baxter Avenue. Our hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We currently serve 160 individuals with severe medical needs and disabilities.
